E-bike battery cases for folding bikes

A folding frame has to fold. That single requirement removes most of the range before you look at capacity.

Who this is for: Shops converting folders, and brands needing a pack that does not defeat the fold.

What this build actually constrains

The fold has to clear

Anything that crosses the hinge or fouls the folded silhouette is out, regardless of how many cells it holds.

Frame tubes are short

A 20-inch folder's down tube is often under 350 mm. Most high-capacity moulds simply will not fit.

Small packs, honestly

For most folders the ceiling is around 52 cells, and that is fine — the bike is not doing 80 km.

Formats that fit

Worth knowing — the one to avoid here

Silver Fish

The long profile is the point of a Silver Fish case, and a folder's down tube is the one place there is no length to give it.

Questions we get about this build

What battery case fits a 20-inch folding bike?
A short downtube housing, an in-frame housing, or a bottle-boss case. Measure the usable down-tube length first: on many 20-inch folders it falls under 350 mm, which rules out the long-profile formats.
Will a rear rack case fit a folding bike?
It can, but it usually defeats the fold — the case sits where the folded bike wants to be, and it makes the folded package considerably longer.

Send us the build and we will say which format works

Frame envelope, cell type, series and parallel count is all we need. If the answer is that none of our moulds fit and it needs a new one, we will say that rather than sell you the nearest thing.
