E-bike battery cases for tricycles and e-trikes

A trike removes the handling objection to a heavy rack-mounted pack, which makes it the one build type where the biggest envelope is also the easiest choice.

Who this is for: Makers of e-trikes, mobility trikes and last-mile delivery trikes.

What this build actually constrains

Weight distribution is not a problem

The whole reason a rack case is a compromise on two wheels does not apply here.

Access matters

Trikes are often used by riders who do not want to lift a pack out of a frame. A case that slides off a rail is easier.

Carrying capacity is the point

If a trike exists to carry things, the battery should not be taking up the load space — or should be sized to.

Formats that fit

What we would put on this build

    ['
  • Rear Rack — 17 models, up to 104 cells on 18650 and 78 on 21700.
  • ', '
  • Downtube — 21 models, up to 200 cells on 18650 and 160 on 21700.
  • ']
Worth knowing — the one to avoid here

Integrated

Hiding the battery inside the frame buys a clean silhouette, which is not what a trike buyer is optimising for, and it costs capacity and service access.

Questions we get about this build

What is the largest battery case for an e-trike?
Our rack-mounted range goes to 104 cells on 18650 and 78 on 21700, which is the largest envelope we mould. On a trike the usual rack-mount handling objection does not apply.
Can I fit two battery cases to a trike?
Yes — a common setup is a main pack on the rack plus a smaller bottle-boss pack as a range extender, wired as a separate system rather than in parallel unless your BMS supports it.

Send us the build and we will say which format works

Frame envelope, cell type, series and parallel count is all we need. If the answer is that none of our moulds fit and it needs a new one, we will say that rather than sell you the nearest thing.
